 Fishing Report

 Offshore

Congrats to Mitchell Cosgrove who caught a nice 25.1kg Yellowfin while live baiting for Kingi’s in 60m near Cuvier in sponsors grid “Tyrepower”. You never know what’s swimming around!!

Inshore

The Snapper continue to be around in good numbers. Many reports of limit bags over the last week, but also some people who “struggled a bit but got a feed”.  Some nice Trevally also being caught with the Snapper when burly is being used. Lots of Kahawai schools all over the place which makes it easy to get some fresh bait, as well as taking a few home to eat. Fishing in the river has also been good this week, so you don’t need to go far. A few Flounder also being caught up the river when the tides are right.

Good Fishing…

Kill the Bill – updated from LegaSea

The government is feeling the pressure so much they’ve extended the submission deadline by an extra week. You now have until 6 May to make a submission opposing the Fisheries Amendment Bill.

Click here to use the LegaSea submission guide.

Around 30,000 Kiwis have already made a submission using our online template, which is an amazing effort. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. We know that around three million Kiwis support reforms for an abundant fishery, and 600,000 of us go fishing every year.

If we want to ensure that there’s fish in the water for our kids and theirs, we need more people to speak up and oppose the Amendment Bill before 6 May.

The pressure is building and we’re not backing off until we Kill the Bill.

Loyalty Points

We’d like to remind all members that the Club loyalty points program has now been discontinued. Any remaining points can still be redeemed, but please note that the final date to use them is 30 June. We encourage you to take advantage of your points before this deadline, as they will no longer be valid after this date.
