Fishing Report
Not much to report this week, with the strong winds early in the week turning to a brief south easterly yesterday putting many people off (not to mention the cold). There were a few boats out wide yesterday with bait reported around the 400m mark in grid square NZ Building Developments.
Another good forecast today will see a number of boats heading out for Southern Bluefin Tuna. Popular spots will be from Mercury Knoll to the Double Knolls down to the Alderman Knolls and out to the west Ngatoro Knoll.

New Trophy Cabinet
A huge thank you to Mike and the team at Dimax Bespoke Interiors for the outstanding workmanship on our new trophy cabinet. It looks absolutely fantastic and is a real feature in the clubrooms.
We’d also like to sincerely thank Dimax for their generous sponsorship towards the cabinet. Your contribution and support of the Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club are greatly appreciated.
Now we’re just waiting for the trophies to return from the engravers so we can start filling it up!
Trash 2 Dash Movie Charity screening at Mercury Bay Cinema
Wayne Johnson, member and filmmaker along with Mercury Bay Twin Cinema is running a charity event to raise funds and support Mercury Bay Area School Camps by screening of Trash 2 Dash a documentary of Dean Hart’s story, starting today until the 12th August.
Dean Hart, is the NZ Land speed record holder and will be a guest speaker at the end of the 4.30pm screening on Sunday the 9th August.
