Fishing:

There have been a few nice mornings but largely the wind has put most people off fishing this week.  There were a few reports of snapper, kingfish and gurnard being caught.  The snapper fishing was a bit harder than in recent times but the fish that were caught, were in excellent condition leading into the breeding season that will kick off soon.  We’ve had early reports of the return of mackies to the bay which will make it easier to pick up some bait on the way out. There’s a good forecast for the weekend so hopefully there’ll be fish on the menu in a few households over the next few days.

Club Night:

From next Thursday we will resume our club nights albeit in a different form with covid restrictions still in place.  We’ll start a club draw at $500 (the existing one which is sitting at $1500 will be parked until our members from out of town have a opportunity to join us) which will jackpot by $100 per week if not struck.  Chuck a chook will be back and we’ll have some meat raffles although tickets will be sold differently as we can’t have patrons walking around or queuing to buy them.

Kubota Billfish Classic:

Just a reminder for boats that were in this tournament last year, that you have until Nov 10th (next Wednesday) to get your entry in to secure your spot.

We do have people on the waiting list and although numbers will likely be capped at a higher number than last year, they will be capped. Safest option is to get your entry in before then with a lot more prize money on offer.

Have a great weekend
